JOB DESCRIPTION
PLANT HEAD (Frozen Foods Division)
Location: Ambala, Haryana
Reporting To: Managing Director / Board
CTC Range: ₹15–17 LPA
Experience: 10–15 years (Minimum 5 years as Plant Head / Production Lead)
Industry Preference: McCain, HyFun, Balaji, Iscon, Falcon, Simplot, or similar frozen food manufacturing
Role Objective
To lead, manage, and continuously improve overall operations of the frozen food manufacturing plant. The Plant Head will be responsible for production, quality, maintenance, utilities, manpower, efficiency, and compliance — ensuring high productivity and world-class standards across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Operations Management
- Lead end-to-end production of French Fries, Hash Browns, Patties, Tikkis, Rolls, and RTE products.
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets (MT, cartons, yield %, efficiency) are met.
- Implement and monitor SOPs, line parameters, and productivity metrics.
- Ensure FIFO/LIFO, minimal wastage, and optimal shift planning.
2. Quality, Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to FSSAI, HACCP, BRC, ISO, and customer specifications.
- Maintain hygiene, sanitation, metal detection, temperature control, and documentation.
- Coordinate with the QC Head for raw material, in-process, and final product checks.
- Ensure complete traceability, batch sheets, and compliance documentation.
3. Machinery & Technical Oversight
- Oversee operation and maintenance of:
- Urschel Cutter
- Bigtem Blancher & Fryer
- Dryer & SAAP
- NSCPL IQF
- BW Flexible Pouch Packing Machine
- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance through Mechanical/Electrical teams.
- Conduct daily technical review for downtime, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
4. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead a workforce of 100+ including Managers, Supervisors, Operators, and Packers.
- Conduct daily morning meetings and shift handover reviews.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and manpower allocation.
- Ensure training on SOPs, hygiene, safety, and machine handling.
5. Utility & Support System Coordination
- Ensure efficient functioning of ETP, Boiler, Ammonia Refrigeration, Air Compressors, DG, and EMS.
- Coordinate for water, steam, air, nitrogen, and refrigeration as per production load.
6. Cost Control & Efficiency Improvement
- Optimize consumption of oil, diesel, electricity, chemicals, and packing materials.
- Monitor KPI dashboards: Yield %, Downtime %, Rejection %, MT/day, Cost/kg.
- Implement Kaizen, 5S, SMED, and lean manufacturing improvements.
7. Safety & Plant Discipline
- Enforce statutory and internal safety protocols across all departments.
- Conduct safety audits, fire drills, and hazard control activities.
- Ensure all employees use proper PPE and follow plant guidelines.
8. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Purchase for raw material planning (potatoes, oil, packing, etc.).
- Coordinate with HR for recruitment and shift management.
- Support Export & Sales teams for samples, dispatch scheduling, and product readiness.
- Provide regular MIS and performance reports to management.
Qualifications
- B.Tech / M.Tech in Food Technology, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
- Strong technical understanding of frozen food processes and cold chain systems.
- Proficient in Excel, ERP, production planning, and reporting.

- Audit Scores (BRC / HACCP) : 100% Compliance
