The Food Safety Department in Barabanki carried out a major operation just before the festive season, raiding a local dairy factory where production was found to be in highly unhygienic conditions.
During the inspection, officials discovered that milk, ghee, paneer, and curd were being produced and stored in unsafe and unsanitary environments. Expired and poor-quality raw materials were seized on the spot. Around 450 kilograms of ghee were confiscated, while over 450 kilograms of spoiled materials were destroyed immediately to prevent further use.
The department has also collected five samples from the site, which have been sent for laboratory testing to determine the extent of contamination and potential health risks.
Authorities stated that such inspections are being intensified across the district to ensure food safety and hygiene during the festive season when the consumption of dairy and sweets significantly increases.
This operation highlights the government’s strict stance against food adulteration and unsafe manufacturing practices, ensuring that public health remains a top priority.
