Job Description:
What are the Key Deliverables in this role?
Financial Outcomes
- Achieve and maintain production within allocated budgets by controlling raw material consumption, reducing wastage, and optimizing labor utilization.
- Drive improvements in yield and line efficiency to maximize output and minimize cost per unit.
- Ensure efficient use of machinery, manpower, and materials to achieve cost savings.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to reduce carrying costs and prevent overproduction or shortages.
- Maintain optimal levels of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods to balance production continuity with working capital management.
- Prepare timely and accurate MIS reports on production costs, variances, and performance against financial KPIs for management review.
Customer Service
- On-Time Order Fulfillment for Ensure adherence to production schedules to meet customer delivery timelines for both domestic and export markets.
- Maintain high standards of product quality, ensuring every batch meets Tata Consumer Products’ specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to investigate and resolve any customer complaints or product returns quickly and effectively.
- Work closely with R&D, marketing, and supply chain teams to facilitate smooth trials and launches of new products as per customer demand.
Internal Processes
- Ensure strict compliance with internal SOPs, FSSAI/BRCGS/IFS standards, and all statutory guidelines.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements or automation projects (e.g., OEE improvement, digital tracking).
- Uphold Tata’s standards for workplace safety, employee well-being, and plant hygiene through regular audits and training
- Liaise effectively with maintenance, procurement, planning, logistics, and HR to ensure seamless plant operations
Innovation and Learning
- Ensure Kaizen/Lean/6 Sigma projects to drive innovation in productivity, quality, or cost savings.
- Organize regular training sessions for operators/supervisors on GMP, safety practices, equipment handling, etc.
- Conduct thorough RCAs on process deviations or non-conformances and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Support Tata’s sustainability goals by reducing energy/water consumption or implementing waste management best practices.
What are the Critical success factors for the Role?
- BE/B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed Institute
- 6+ years of relevant work experience in Food Manufacturing Industry
- Achieving production targets within the approved budget.
- Minimizing waste, downtime, and non-value-added activities through process improvements.
- Efficient use of raw materials, utilities, and manpower.
- Good Knowledge in BIS/FSSAI regulations/FSSC/HACCP, ISO22000 and ISO 17025 in document/work Instruction preparation & Implementation.
