Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and performance-driven Production Manager to lead our production facility focused on chocolates, baked goods, and confectionery items. The ideal candidate should bring strong technical expertise, leadership qualities, Shopfloor Cost mgmt. and a hands-on understanding of food safety and operational excellence in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Team & Operations Management
- Supervise end-to-end production activities across chocolate and bakery lines.
- Manage shift schedules, assign manpower, and ensure productivity across teams.
- Continuously mentor and evaluate shop-floor staff to build a high-performance culture.
Planning & Execution
- Create daily and weekly production execution schedules aligned with demand forecasts.
- Ensure timely, effective output with focus on minimal downtime, reduced wastage, Cost Control.
- Coordinate and manage complexity of chocolate cookies variants.
Quality & Compliance
- Uphold all FSSAI, ISO, Food Safety Culture quality and hygiene standards.
- Conduct process checks in coordination with the QA/QC.
- Ensure SOPs, batch records, and food safety protocols are strictly followed.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Monitor equipment across baking ovens, molding lines, cooling tunnels, and packaging stations.
- Coordinate with maintenance for preventive Maintenance care and quick resolution of breakdowns.
- Focused approach to get Automation wherever needed for better Quality, better cost reduction, excellent output.
Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain daily production logs, wastage reports, shift summaries, and equipment performance data.
- Collaborate closely with Stores, QA, Maintenance, R&D, Dispatch for seamless operations.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization, cost control, and efficiency improvements.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: B.Tech / B.Sc in Food Technology,
Experience: 6–8 years of experience in food manufacturing, in that preferably min. 2-3 yrs exp. In chocolate, bakery, or confectionery segments.
Skills:
- Strong people management and shift-handling experience.
- Deep understanding of GMP, HACCP, bakery and chocolate production SOPs.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP production planning tools, and reporting.
- Flexible to work in shifts; capable of physical tasks like standing for long hours.
- Implementation Knowledge of TPM- Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, methodologies.
- Experience in managing third-party Productions, per kg contract manufacturing.
