Jalgaon Jilha Sahakari Dudh Utpadak Sangh Maryadit, Jalgaon also known as Jalgaon Milk Union (JMU) was established in 1971 under the Operation Flood Programme-I of Govt. of India. It is a well-known name in Dairy Sector of India. The JMU sells its products by the name of ‘ Vikas’. JMU recorded turnover of Rs. 506/- crore in the year 2019-20.
JMU procures more than 3.00 lakhs litres of milk per day during the peak season, sells around 2.00 lakh litres of milk per day in retail. The Union has fully automatic SCADA based 5.00 LLPD of milk processing plant, 3.00 LLPD packing and storage facilities. Apart from milk the Jalgaon Milk Union sells Dahi, Lassi, Butter Milk, Paneer, Shrikhand, Flavoured Milk, Khoa, Peda and Ghee.
The Union has 15.00 MT powder making facility. The Sangh is known for its quality of White Buter and SMP all over India and it is a well-known brand in and around Jalgaon in milk and ghee.
The Union has clear cut goals of uplifting the lot of farmers by giving them their due and making sure that the end user gets best quality milk products at most reasonable prices. In fact, the Sangh has carved out a special niche for itself and its products in the public eye and has become market leader in the region.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
JMU collects, milk from around 1000 villages of Jalgaon district through primary level co-operative societies from 1 lakh producer members.
A training center has been established for training and orientation of milk producing farmers and rural youth for rearing the best quality milch animals and managing their own business affairs. Leadership and other Development programmes for rural women are also regularly organized.
The milk union has initiated:
- Setting up Bulk Milk Coolers in selected Dairy Co-operative Societies (DCS), a step in the direction of clean milk production.
- Coverage of farmers under Life Insurance Schemes.
- Technological upgradation of DCS through computerization for bringing full transparency in their operations.
- Arranging Cattle loans from various Banks for increasing the animal wealth and milk production in the district.

Deputy General Manager (Technical)
A Deputy General Manager (Technical) in a dairy setting is responsible for overseeing and optimizing
all technical aspects of dairy operations, including production, quality control, and
maintenance. They ensure efficient and safe production of dairy products while meeting quality
standards and regulatory requirements. This role also involves managing teams, implementing
process improvements, and contributing to the overall strategic direction of the dairy plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management & Production:
Oversee Daily Operations:
Assist in planning and managing daily plant operations, ensuring smooth workflow and
optimal production output.
Resource Optimization:
Efficiently utilize resources like raw materials, labor, and equipment to maximize
productivity and minimize waste.
Production Planning:
Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely production and delivery of dairy
products.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and
improve product quality.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of all plant equipment to minimize
downtime and maintain optimal performance. - Quality Control & Compliance:
Quality Standards:
Ensure all dairy products meet established quality and safety standards, including
adherence to HACCP, GMP, and other relevant regulations.
Quality Control:
Oversee quality control processes throughout the production cycle, from raw milk to
finished products.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including maintaining proper
documentation and records.
Hygiene & Sanitation:
Implement and enforce strict hygiene and sanitation practices within the plant to
maintain a clean and safe environment. - Team Management & Leadership:
Team Supervision:
Supervise and lead production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance
feedback.
Training & Development:
Conduct training sessions for staff on production processes, safety procedures, and
quality standards.

Contribute to the development of business strategies and plans for the dairy plant.
Product Development:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products and improve existing
ones.

Prepare and present regular production and quality reports to senior management.
