In a significant enforcement drive, the Uttar Pradesh Food Safety and Drug Administration (UPFSDA) has seized 25,000 kilograms of Suji, valued at approximately ₹10 lakh, from M/s Raj Sneh Agro Foods Pvt. Ltd. over violations of mandatory packaging and labeling regulations.
The action was carried out during an inspection aimed at strengthening compliance with food safety standards and safeguarding consumer interests. Officials reportedly found discrepancies related to packaging norms, which are strictly governed under the Food Safety and Standards framework. Proper labeling, declaration of product details, batch information, and compliance markings are essential to ensure transparency and traceability in the food supply chain.
Along with the seizure of Suji, food safety officers also collected samples of Jaggery Powder, Gur, and Suji for laboratory analysis. These samples have been sent for detailed testing to verify quality, safety parameters, and regulatory compliance. Further legal action will be initiated based on the laboratory findings.
The department has reiterated its commitment to strict monitoring and enforcement to ensure that food businesses adhere to prescribed standards. Such actions underline the government’s continued efforts to protect public health and promote safe, properly labeled food products in the market.
