Varun Beverages Ltd, PepsiCo’s largest franchise bottler, has announced the complete acquisition of South Africa–based beverage company Twizza. The acquisition will be carried out through Varun Beverages’ local subsidiary, The Beverages Company Proprietary Limited, also known as Bevco.
Twizza is engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of its own branded non-alcoholic beverages. The company operates three manufacturing facilities located in Cape Town, Queenstown, and Middelburg. Together, these plants have a combined annual production capacity of 100 million cases.
According to a regulatory filing, the acquisition has been valued at an enterprise value of ZAR 2,095 million, which is approximately ₹1,118.7 crore. The transaction will be fully payable in cash.
Varun Beverages stated that its Board of Directors approved the acquisition of 100 percent share capital of Twizza at its meeting held on Sunday. The deal will be executed through its South African subsidiary, Bevco.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory and other statutory approvals. Varun Beverages has indicated that the transaction is expected to be completed on or before June 30, 2026.
This move strengthens Varun Beverages’ presence in the African market and aligns with its strategy to expand its footprint beyond India and other existing international territories.
