NIFTEM is the brainchild of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI)Government of India. MoFPI in its Vision document-2015, envisaged creation of a world-class institution to cater to the various stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, food processing industry, exporters, policy makers, government and existing institution.
NIFTEM will work actively for assisting in setting up food standards, businesses incubation and can also include knowledge sharing. It would also be an apex institution.
Our Mission is to โtransform NIFTEM to IIFTEM (International Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management) through creating entrepreneurship among the students, farmers, FPOs, rural and urban youthโ
NIFTEM, Kundli was established under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India in the year 2012 to provide a conducive ecosystem for education, research, industrial promotion, support and entrepreneurship in the food processing sector. Over more than a decade, NIFTEM, Kundli has emerged as a leading academic and research Institute in different aspects of food science and technology.The Institute has been a harbinger in academic innovations, peer-reviewed research publications in high impact factor (IF) journals, filing patents, obtaining research grants from external sources, developing technologies and creating entrepreneurship in Food Processing.
