The Food Safety Department carried out a major enforcement drive in Jharkhand’s Giridih district to ensure safe and hygienic food for consumers. Teams conducted surprise inspections at several bakeries, sweet shops and dairy units across the area. During the checks, unsafe food products were found at a number of establishments and were immediately seized and destroyed.
Officials focused especially on milk-based items such as khoya and other dairy products. Samples of suspected khoya have been sent to laboratories for detailed testing to verify quality and safety. Based on the test reports, further legal action will be taken against the violators.
Food safety officers also instructed shop owners to maintain proper hygiene, display valid licenses and strictly follow FSSAI guidelines. The department stated that such inspection drives will continue regularly to protect public health.
The operation has sent a strong message to food business operators that compromising on safety standards will not be tolerated, while reassuring consumers about the authorities’ commitment to safe food.
