The Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) team in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, carried out a swift enforcement action against food adulteration. During the inspection, officials seized and destroyed approximately 10 quintals of mawa (khoya) suspected to be unsafe for consumption.
The estimated value of the destroyed mawa is around ₹2.55 lakh. The operation was conducted as part of the ongoing drive to ensure food safety ahead of the festive season, a time when the demand for dairy-based sweets significantly increases.
Authorities emphasized that strict checks will continue to prevent the sale of adulterated or unhygienic food products in the market.
The #FSSAI continues to work closely with state authorities to ensure that food served to consumers is safe, hygienic, and compliant with quality standards.
